|  | About the technology author(s): Barton Smith has been a research staff member at IBM since 1979; currently, he is the manager of Human Interface Research at the Almaden Research Center. Mr. Smith's interests include designing devices and methods for computer input and providing people with more facile interactions with tools.
Shumin Zhai is a research staff member at the IBM Almaden Research Center, where he conducts research on input devices, interaction methods, and theoretical modeling of human-computer interaction. Mr. Zhai is an associate editor of ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction, Interacting with Computers, and Personal Technologies. Most of his publications can be found at http://www.almaden.ibm.com/u/zhai/.
Clemens Drews holds a B.S. in Technical Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany. He joined IBM Research as an intern in 1998 and is now a regular IBM employee. Mr. Drews has worked on projects involving hardware and software designs for various aspects of human-computer interaction.
