Platform requirements for Distributed Parallel Programming Environment for Java

Operating system: Any platform with Java Development Kit 1.4

Hardware:

  • 512 MB RAM or above
  • 100 MBPS Network. (For full efficiency, 1 GBPS Network or above is required.)

Java tool: Java Development Kit 1.4

Installation instructions for Distributed Parallel Programming Environment for Java

On Windows®/Linux®:

  1. Unzip the DPPEJ.zip file.
  2. Set the DPPEJ_HOME environment variable to the directory where you have unzipped the file. For example, if you have unzipped DPPEJ.zip in the C:\ directory, then set %DPPEJ_HOME% as C:\DPPEJ.
  3. Include the %DPPEJ_HOME%\bin\dthread.jar in the CLASSPATH environment variable.
  4. Check to see whether the JAVA_HOME environment variable is set. It must be set to the root directory of your JDK.
