Platform requirements for Embedded Voice Toolkit Preview

Operating systems: Windows® XP, 2000

Software: WebSphere Studio Device Developer 5.6.1

Computer:

  • Intel® Pentium® III 500 MHz processor or equivalent, minimum (1.0 GHz recommended)
  • 512 MB RAM (768 MB recommended)
  • A display adapter setting of at least 256 colors and 800x600 resolution or above (1024x768 resolution recommended)
  • Sound card and speakers for audio playback:
    • Crystal Audio chipset for IBM Model 770 laptop
    • Turtle Beach Montego II
  • Microphone for pronunciation generation. IBM recommends the AKG Q400Mk3 directional microphone.
  • 200 MB free disk space (in addition to the disk space requirement for WSDD)
  • For installation, an additional 200 MB temporary space on the drive specified in your user TMP environment variable.

Installation instructions for Embedded Voice Toolkit Preview

  1. Download the toolkit.
  2. Run EV_Setup.exe and follow the installation wizard.

Notes:
This toolkit can be installed only into WebSphere Studio Device Developer 5.6 or greater. You must install the toolkit on a local hard drive. You cannot install to a local floppy drive, or to a zip, CD-ROM, or remote drive.
