Expert System for Tuning Optimizations (ESTO)

Operating systems: Linux®: Red Hat or SuSE on pSeries®

Hardware:

• Linux on POWER®, such as SLES9/10, RHEL4/5, etc.
• enough free disk space for up to 64 optimized programs
• exclusive use of a machine (to ensure undistorted measurements).

Software: an installed optimizer, such as GCC 3.3/4.0/4.1 or FDPR-Pro

1. Run the following command:

   
   $ [sudo] rpm -ihv 
      esto-<version-date>.ppc.linux.rpm
   
   

2. Make sure that PATH includes /opt/bin (where the ESTO program link is located).
3. Make sure that MANPATH includes /opt/man; the esto.1 link is located in man1.
