Platform requirements
Operating systems:
- For the API: any Java™-compatible system.
- For the GUI: Windows® 2000, XP, or Vista
Software:
- Java Run-time Environment 1.5
- Apache UIMA 2.2.2 or above (for using the API)
- ICU4J 3.6 or above (for using the API).
Installation instructions
To install the Galaxy GUI application:
- Download the galaxy-1.1zip file.
- Unpack the zip file to a suitable directory.
- Launch the application (galaxy/galaxy.exe).
- Add the API JAR files to the classpath.
To use the Galaxy API:
- Download the galaxy-api-1.1.zip file.
- Unpack the zip file to a suitable directory.
- Galaxy API is provided as a set of Eclipse plug-ins/OSGi bundles. To use them in Eclipse IDE, add the galaxy-api folder to the target platform. Or the plug-in JAR files from the galaxy-api/plugins folder can be used without Eclipse/OSGi by adding JAR files to the classpath of an application.
