Installation instructions

Uninstalling previous versions:

1. Close any open instances of Eclipse, Rational Application Developer, or WebSphere® ID.
2. On Rational Application Developer or WebSphere Integration Developer:
   1. Navigate to <RAD_or_WID-install-dir>\eclipse\plugins\. For example: C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\plugins.
   2. Remove any directories named the following:
      com.ibm.hursley.jarclassfinder_*
   On Eclipse:
   1. Navigate to <Eclipse-install-dir>\plugins\. For example: C:\Program Files\Eclipse\plugins.
   2. Remove any directories named the following:
      com.ibm.hursley.jarclassfinder_*

Installing Version 2.1.0:

1. Download the file com.ibm.hursley.jarclassfinder_2.1.0.jar.
2. Close any open instances of Eclipse, Rational Application Developer, or WebSphere Integration Developer.
3. On Rational Application Developer 7.0: Move the com.ibm.hursley.jarclassfinder_2.1.0.jar file to <RAD-install-dir>\plugins\. For example: C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\plugins.
   On Eclipse (Version 3.2 or above): Move the com.ibm.hursley.jarclassfinder_2.1.0.jar file to <Eclipse-install-dir>\plugins\. For example: C:\Program Files\Eclipse\plugins.
4. Start your workbench (with the -clean option) either by editing the shortcut or by calling it from the command line.
5. In order to use JAR Class Finder:
   1. Click on the new icon that appears in the toolbar (it looks like a magnifying glass over the letter C).
   2. Enter the class you wish to find (for example, Base64DecoderStream).
   3. Browse to the location in the file system where you wish to begin your search (for example: C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\lib).
   4. Click on Find.
   5. When the results appear in the table, right-click on an entry and add it to the Java™ build path of your project, or choose other options as appropriate.

Installing Versions 2.0.1 and 2.0.3:

1. Download the jarclassplugin.zip file.
2. Close any open instances of Eclipse or Rational Application Developer.
3. Unzip the jarclassplugin.zip file to <RAD-install-dir>/eclipse/. For example: C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\SDP\6.0\eclipse.
4. Start your workbench.
5. In order to start JAR Class Finder:
   • Version 2.0.1 only: First, go to Window/Customize Perspective. Expand Other and check the Class Finder box.
   • Both versions: Click on the new icon that appears in your toolbar (it looks like a magnifying glass over the letter C).
6. In order to use JAR Class Finder:
   1. Enter the class you wish to find (for example, Base64DecoderStream).
   2. Browse to the location in the file system where you wish to begin your search (for example: <RAD-install-dir>/runtimes).
   3. Click on Find.
   4. When the results appear in the table, right-click on an entry and add it into the Java build path of your project, or choose other options as appropriate.
