Hardware: x86

Software:

• Java Development Kit (JDK) 5 or above (IBM or Sun)
• Eclipse 3.4 or above with JDT included (other versions might work but has not been tested)

Data Collector component:

Operating systems: Linux kernel 2.6.14 or above, AIX 6.1

Hardware: x86, x86_64, or ppc64

Software:

• Java Run-time Environment (JRE) 5.0 or above (IBM or Sun)
• The following must be set for Linux:
• CONFIG_KPROBES
• CONFIG_RELAY or CONFIG_DEBUGFS
• CONFIG_KALLSYMS

To install msdk-cmd.zip and DataCollector.vx.y.z.zip, download and unzip the files, and follow the instructions in the README files.

MulticoreSDK Eclipse Plug-in can be installed via Eclipse update manager.

For Eclipse 3.4.x:

Click Help > Software Updates... > Available Software > Add Site,. Add these update sites:

Alphaworks Tech: http://awwebx04.alphaworks.ibm.com/ettktechnologies/updates
EMF: http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/updates/releases/
GMF: http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/updates/releases/

Select "Multicore SDK" in Alphaworks Tech.
Select "EMF - Eclipse Modeling Framework core runtime" under category "EMF SDK 2.4.x (EMF + SDO + XSD)" in EMF.
Select "Graphical Modeling Framework Runtime" under category "GMF SDK 2.1.x" in GMF.
Click install.

Click Help > Install New Software... > Add.

• First, add site EMF: http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/updates/releases/. Install "EMF - Eclipse Modeling Framework Core Runtime" under category "EMF SDK 2.5.0 (EMF+XSD)".
• Next, add site GMF: http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/updates/releases/ Install "Graphical Modeling Framework Runtime" under category "GMF SDK 2.2.1".
• Finally, add site Alphaworks Tech: http://awwebx04.alphaworks.ibm.com/ettktechnologies/updates Install "Multicore SDK" in "Alphaworks Tech".

Note:

1. Plugin GMF and EMF are dependency plug-ins of MSDK plugin.
2. Please uncheck "Show the latest version of a feature only" in the bottom of update dialog.

If this plug-in is installed successfully, a new tool bar item could be found in Eclipse tool bar. Click the main menu Help > About Eclipse SDK and a MSDK icon will display in the opened window.
