Model Transformation Framework

Operating systems: any supported by Eclipse

Software:

• Java Run-time Environment 1.4.2 or 1.5
• Eclipse 3.2.1
• Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) 2.2
• Eclipse XML Schema Infoset Model (XSD) 2.2 (for running some of the samples)
• Eclipse UML 2.0 meta-model implementation (UML2) 2.0.1 (for running some of the samples)

Note: Model Transformation Framework will also run with any of the following (which may already include some of the above pre-requisites):

• IBM Rational Software Architect 7.0
• IBM Rational Software Modeler 7.0
• IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software 7.0
• IBM Rational Web Developer for WebSphere Software 7.0

The Rational Software Modeler extensibility sample requires either IBM Rational Software Modeler or Software Architect.

1. Download and unzip MTFInstall.zip. This file contains the MTF samples, a user guide in PDF format (also available as Eclipse help), and a link to the Eclipse update site.
2. In Eclipse, select Help > Software Updates > Find and Install... from the main menu.
3. Select Search for new features to install.
4. Click on New archived site.
5. Select the file site.zip from the MTF installation package.
6. Click on Finish.
7. Expand the tree view and select all the features that you want to install.
8. Click on Next, and proceed, accepting the defaults. You will be warned that the features have not been digitally signed.
